Recorded with a minimal studio setup in an apartment in San Francisco, trying not to make too much noise and be a bad roommate. I was also sharing a room at the time, so I had to pick my moments. Perhaps the lack of general control made the chances I did get to record feel precious and not to be wasted. This period was somewhat of a rediscovering phase, after having put writing and recording away for a bit to focus on establishing a career in a new field.

I look back on these recording fondly, remembering trading my roommate metal for nylon banjo strings, starting to develop some amount of agency on soft synths, and falling back in love with songwriting after burning myself out by taking myself (and the results of my efforts) far too seriously.
